Did You Know? 🍨🏭

Seven Valleys in York County, Pennsylvania, is widely recognized as the birthplace of commercial ice cream production in America.
In 1851, C. Jacob Fussell built an ice cream factory in Seven Valleys to use surplus milk and cream from local dairy farms.
This marked the first time ice cream was mass-produced for commercial sale in the United States.
The nearby Northern Central Railway played a crucial role, allowing Fussell to ship ice cream quickly to the growing Baltimore market.
Although Fussell later moved his operations to Baltimore, ice cream manufacturing continued in Seven Valleys under local producers well into the 1940s.
Long before ice cream became a nationwide treat, Pennsylvania helped turn it into a business—making Seven Valleys a true sweet spot in American food history. 🍦
