Moving melodies & Undeniable Updates on Sufferage Our league's contribution to the National Day of Action to celebrate the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
It is the recording of the premier in Carnegie Hall of the Suffrage Cantata written by Andrea Ramsey.
It tells in narrative and song the story of where women's voting rights started and the struggles involved.

⚠️ URGENT ACTION NEEDED ⚠️

Oppose a proposed rule from the United States Postal Service that could create new barriers to voting by mail ➡️ https://www.lwv.org/take-action/oppose-proposed-mail-and-absentee-ballot-regulations

The USPS public comment period is open until July 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Washington voters have successfully cast their ballots by mail for more than a decade. Every registered voter in our state receives a ballot by mail, making vote-by-mail the foundation of our election system. This proposal would impose new federal requirements on election mail and give USPS a new role in election administration — responsibilities that belong to state and local election officials.
Washington's vote-by-mail system is secure, accessible, and trusted by voters across the state. Changes that could delay ballots, increase administrative burdens, or make it harder for eligible voters to participate threaten a system that works well for Washingtonians.

At the top is the LWV of Washington logo and a red banner with blue lightening bolt that says: “Action Alert!” Below this is a box surrounded by more comic book details and with text inside. The text reads: “Tell USPS: Don't undermine Washington's vote-by-mail system.”

in 1865 — now known as Juneteenth — Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas and read General Order No. 3, delivering the news of emancipation to enslaved Black Texans more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. The last to know. The last to be free. Today, we honor that history and recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of ensuring every Texan's voice is heard, counted, and protected.

Happy Juneteenth. 🖤❤️💚
