Another purr-fect example of Seminole Fire Rescue going above and beyond for the community!

Kitten Extrication: City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department’s Truck 29 (A-shift) responded to the new Circle K at Park Blvd. & Starkey Rd. today to rescue a stray kitten stuck in a vehicle’s wheel well. After a brief dash to a second vehicle, firefighters successfully freed the kitten. All safe and happy!

This EMS Appreciation Week, we treated our crews to a surprise Banana Split Bar as a small way to say thank you for everything they do!

Our EMS personnel consistently demonstrate dedication, compassion, and professionalism on every call, every shift, and every day. Whether responding to emergencies, providing critical patient care, or supporting the community during difficult moments, their hard work and commitment never go unnoticed. We are incredibly proud of our crews and grateful for the service they provide to our community.

We’d also like to thank Dairy Queen for helping us put together a fun event for our crews and for continuing to be a supportive part of our community.

Please join us in recognizing and celebrating our outstanding EMS professionals during EMS Appreciation Week!

The Seminole Recreation Center recently hosted a multi-day training exercise for the Pinellas County Hazardous Materials Team, bringing together personnel from Seminole, St. Petersburg, Largo, Palm Harbor, and Pinellas Park. The training plan was developed by Seminole Fire Lieutenant Michael Lathrop.
The scenario simulated a chlorine gas leak inside a pool pump house, where two workers were overcome by fumes and required rescue and medical attention. Crews focused on cylinder identification, leak control techniques, and proper chemical identification. Medical operations emphasized effective decontamination procedures and patient treatment.
Conducted over the course of three days, the training highlighted the Pinellas County Hazardous Team's continued commitment to preparedness, interagency coordination, and community safety.
A special thank you is extended to Recreation Director Becky Gunter for hosting the training and providing access to the facilities.
