✨Puckertoe Class!✨

This prevention class was all about learning, creating, and keeping our traditions alive! We had a great time coming together for our Puckertoe class and learning this beautiful traditional art.

A big thank you to our instructor, Alivia Wapskineh, for sharing her knowledge and skills with us, and to everyone who joined us! It’s always special when we can gather, learn from one another, and continue passing these traditions forward.

Culture is prevention. Culture is connection. Culture is strength.

We want to give a very special thank you to Randy Gouge for his incredible generosity and for donating his late wife Jeana Kelly Gouge’s patchwork materials and sewing machines to us.

Jeana was a Muscogee/Creek Seminole, a Master Beadwork Artist, Contemporary Native American Fashion Designer, and Intertribal Graphic Design Artist. Her beautiful work, creativity, and knowledge are a true reflection of the importance of keeping Native art, culture, and traditions alive.

We are incredibly grateful to Randy for trusting us with such a meaningful piece of Jeana’s legacy. What a beautiful way to honor her memory — by allowing her creativity and craftsmanship to continue living on through others!

From the conversations and connections to the laughter, creativity, and memories made along the way, each class was truly special!🫶🏽 We loved seeing all of the beautiful art and creations everyone made. Each piece was unique and reflected the creativity, time, and heart that each participant put into it!

🌟 A very special shoutout to our instructor, Sheena Logan🌟

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to provide a Narcan & Opioid Awareness presentation for Seminole Nation Head Start.

This presentation was focused on education, prevention, and bringing awareness to an important topic that affects communities everywhere. We discussed the importance of understanding opioids, recognizing the signs of an overdose, and how Narcan can help save a life.

We are thankful for everyone who attended and engaged by asking thoughtful questions. The willingness to learn and have these conversations is an important step in reducing stigma, and increase a safer and more informed community!

Thank you Seminole Nation Head Start for welcoming us and allowing us to share this important message. Together, through education and prevention, we can make a difference and save lives.

Thank you, Impact Seminole, for welcoming Yekce Svpaklet Owes to the 3rd Annual Back-to-School Bash! We had a great time connecting with families and youth in our community while sharing prevention resources. Throughout the event, we handed out:
🌟Water bottles
🌟"Be Smart, Say No to Drugs" coloring books
🌟Opioid overdose awareness & Narcan brochures

Prevention starts with education, conversation, and community. Every resource shared is an opportunity to help keep our youth and families informed, healthy, and safe.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, and thank you again to Impact Seminole for hosting such a wonderful event. We appreciate the opportunity to support our community and wish everyone a safe, healthy, and successful school year!🍎✏️
