Selma Police Department officers were proud to participate in several community events around town today, including Public Safety Day at Eastfield and Vacation Bible School at Faith Baptist Church.

We want to thank our officers for their continued dedication and commitment to serving our community, especially in today’s heat. We also extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came out and supported these events.

Community partnerships like these make a real difference, and we appreciate the opportunity to connect with the citizens we serve.

The Selma Police Department is currently on scene investigating a stabbing incident at the Redwood Apartments.

At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident. One suspect is in custody, and one victim has been transported to a local hospital for treatment.

There is no current threat to the community.
We will provide additional updates as information becomes available.

Please avoid the area while officers continue their investigation.

🚔 The Town of Selma is grateful for the continued partnership between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies working together to keep dangerous drugs and illegal fi****ms out of our community.

This recent federal sentencing highlights the serious consequences tied to drug trafficking and gun-related crimes and reflects the ongoing commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of our residents.

“This case means a lot to me personally because I was directly involved in this investigation and operation here in Selma,” said Chief Vause, Selma Police Department. “I’ve seen firsthand the damage that drug activity and repeat violent offenders can do to families, neighborhoods, and the overall sense of safety in a small community like ours.”

🚨 ZERO TOLERANCE FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING 🚨

The Selma Police Department, alongside Smithfield PD, Wilson’s Mills PD, and the NC DHHS BAT Mobile, conducted a multi-agency checkpoint & saturation patrol as part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP) initiative targeting dangerous drivers.

🌧️ Rain didn’t slow us down—and it won’t.

Results:

✔️ DWI: 3 (2 alcohol-related; 1 drug-related)
✔️ DWLR: 10
✔️ NOL: 6
✔️ Open container: 4
✔️ Fail to maintain lane control: 1
✔️ Left of center: 1
✔️ Fictitious tag: 1
✔️ Expired registration/inspection: 3
✔️ Equipment violation: 2
✔️ Drug charges: 4
✔️ Speed: 1
✔️ Stop sign violation: 1
✔️ Contributing to delinquency of juvenile: 2

✔️ Total all charged: 38

This is about saving lives. If you choose to drive impaired, expect to be stopped, arrested, and held accountable.
