City of Selma staff take part in recent chainsaw safety training

On April 20th and 21st, nine staff members from the Selma City Public Works department took part in a two-day chainsaw safety training. The training was taught by Mr. Gary Ickes of Ickes Tree Service and was made possible through a collaborative effort by Ala-Tom RC&D Council, Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES), and the Selma Public Works Department. The Dallas County Extension office would like to thank Mrs. Ickes, and Alabama Cooperative Agent Jack Rowe for their effort towards coordinating and providing instruction for the training. We would also like to thank Public Works Director Henry Hicks, and Assistant Director Otis Lee for seeing the value in this continuing education opportunity and for being willing local ACES partners.
