The Tohono O'odham Nation, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, and Congresswoman Grijalva are urging the Indian Health Service (IHS) to halt its planned closure of the Tucson Area Office. Tribal leaders and advocates warn that the closure would disrupt critical healthcare services and weaken support for our tribal communities across the region.

📣Chairman Jose and Vice Chairwoman Johnson were honored to attend the beautifully organized Memorial Day event at the Veterans Memorial Park in Sells.

The ceremony began with an impressive flyover of four F-35 jets, setting a powerful and patriotic tone for the event. We appreciate all of the guest speakers, especially the family members who proudly shared stories honoring their veterans. We extend our gratitude to everyone who helped make this special gathering possible as we came together as a community to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This year’s event had a record attendance, showing our community’s strong support and respect for those who served. Thank you to all the veterans, royalty, volunteers, staff, and attendees who made this a truly memorable event. 🇺🇸

📣 Chairman Jose and Vice Chairwoman Johnson had the honor of attending the 12th Annual Casa Grande Union High School District Graduation Pow Wow on May 16, 2026.

This special event brought the community together so we could honor the Casa Grande Union High School and Vista Grande graduates together. We joined with Governor Lewis of the Gila River Indian Community to provide the graduates their stoles and to present them feathers in recognition of their achievements. Congratulations to all the graduates, and best wishes for continued success in all you do.
