Navarro ISD Chief Financial Officer Paul Neuhoff testified Monday, June 1, before the Texas House Committee on Public Education, advocating for Texas school districts facing severe hardships due to increasingly complex state funding calculations and skyrocketing operational costs.

The hearing, chaired by State Rep. Brad Buckley (R-Salado), was called to review the implementation of House Bill 2 (HB 2)—a sweeping public education finance bill passed last year—and its direct impacts on school districts, teacher recruitment, and special education programs.

In his testimony to the committee, Neuhoff praised the creation of the Allotment for Basic Costs (ABC allotment), particularly its structure based on student enrollment rather than attendance, noting that operational costs do not change when attendance fluctuates. However, he stressed that current state funding is vastly falling short of real-world inflation. Click the link to read the full story: https://www.navarroisd.us/11845?articleID=65560

It may be summer, but our Panthers continue to stay involved, make lasting connections, and unforgettable memories through pure hard work and drive! 🍌📣Congratulations to the entire Navarro ISD Cheer Program for bringing home the coveted Spirited Banana award on day one of UCA Cheer Camp, and a special shoutout to squad members who were chosen as UCA All Americans for the 2026-27 season. 🏆The results for the Fourth Nine-Weeks attendance are in, and Navarro Intermediate School has kept their lead, finishing the school year in 1st Place! But the celebration doesn't stop there. As a entire district, the Panther Family crushed it this year:

↗1.25% Increase in our overall daily average attendance from the third nine-weeks
🙋‍♀️94.91% Overall Attendance Rate for the entire school year!

What an incredible way to finish strong! Our attendance rate is a direct reflection of our community. It is evidence that Navarro ISD is a vibrant, welcoming place where students truly want to come to learn, grow, perform, and engage with their peers and trusted adults every day.

Thank you to our phenomenal parents, students, teachers, and staff for your unwavering commitment this school year!

Navarro ISD recently held its annual Service Awards Breakfast to celebrate our amazing staff. From honoring long-term veterans reaching major milestones to celebrating our first-year teachers, the morning was a beautiful reflection of the strength within our Panther Family. We are grateful for the resilience and passion our team brings to build a community that is truly flourishing.

A special highlight of the celebration was honoring Gracie Lopez for her extraordinary 30 years of service in the Child Nutrition department. Gracie is the prime example of a generational Panther starting in Navarro as a student herself, later raised her children here, and now watches her grandchildren walk these same halls. We congratulate Gracie on her well-deserved retirement and thank her for the legacy she leaves behind, because as we all know: once a Panther, always a Panther! Navarro High School Graduation Status 🎓
We have been closely monitoring the weather patterns for this evening. Because the current forecast looks favorable with low chances of rain, we are excited to announce that Commencement Exercises will proceed as originally planned at Erwin-Lee Stadium.

Gates Open: 7:00pm
Ceremony Begins: 8:00pm
Seating: Standard stadium seating; no tickets required.

Ceremony will continue through light to moderate rain and move quickly if needed. We will follow UIL regulations for lightning delays. Should we delay due to inclement weather, families and guests will vacate the stadium to their vehicles or Event Center. Graduates will vacate to the Junior High cafeteria.

A livestream viewing location will be staged in the Junior High cafeteria. We strongly recommend that extended family and elderly guests watch from the comfort of their homes as the weather is unpredictable.

We look forward to celebrating our seniors under the lights! Please bring your Panther pride and join us for a memorable evening.

🐾 Happy Summer! What an unforgettable year it’s been for our Panther Family! From the moment we welcomed over 3,000 students on day one, we’ve been shifting through every gear.

We moved into a brand-new high school, broke ground on our second elementary, opened parts of our new athletics complex, passed Bond 2026, and maintained 100% graduation rate for 187 Seniors! 🏆 This year was defined by your resilience and fortitude. Our students have reached incredible milestones in the classroom, on the stage and on the field, all thanks to the connection and inspiration provided by our amazing families and staff.

As we head into break, let's keep that momentum rolling. Stay active and keep exploring! Whether you’re hitting the trails or diving into a good book, we want to see our Panthers stay engaged. "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." — Albert Einstein 🚲

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and thank you for making this year legendary. Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, and we’ll see you back in August.
