✨ Meet Your Dispatchers: Spotlight Series ✨

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. To celebrate, we’re highlighting our dispatchers all week long by sharing some fun facts about them!

Today we recognize: Director Donna Wunschel

✨ Years as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher: 32 years
✨ Favorite Part of the Job: Anticipating the needs of the responders during a hot call so the call goes smoothly, and sending all first responders home safely.
✨ Go-to Shift Snack or Drink: “caramel rice chips and applesauce”
✨ Dispatch Superpower: “Although this may seem funny, my communication skills. I took a Verbal Judo for Dispatchers course, and the instructor opened my eyes to a lot.”
✨ Favorite Way to Spend a Day Off: “In my backyard watching a Boston sports team with a fire and my pups & the Mrs.”
✨ Dream Vacation Spot: “I have always wanted to go to Ireland.”
✨ Best Advice for New Dispatchers: “Don’t assume the caller knows you are busy; callers do not really understand what we do and how much goes on in a communications center. It takes only a few seconds to explain without going into too much detail. Treat people like you would want your family treated, should they need to call.”
