🐟 GOOD FOOD, GOOD FRIENDS AND ROTARY FAMILY

One of our club’s most treasured traditions is our annual salmon barbecue — a chance to gather around the table with fellow Rotarians, family members and longtime friends.

Our barbecue committee works hard to grill up some of the best salmon around, but the evening is about much more than the food. We especially love welcoming families and the widows of Rotarians who have passed away. These gatherings remind us that Rotary is more than a service club. Rotary is a family. 💙💛

The salmon barbecue is one of four annual social events supported by club dues and fines, along with our golf scramble, Christmas party and installation dinner. They give us time outside our regular meetings and service projects to strengthen friendships and get to know one another’s families.

Interested in becoming part of the Sedro-Woolley Rotary family? Membership begins with sponsorship by a current Rotarian. Talk to a Rotarian you know and ask about becoming a member!

We meet four times a month for lunch and ask members to maintain at least 50% attendance. Busy schedule? Work parties, social gatherings and other Rotary activities provide plenty of opportunities to make up meetings while serving and connecting with fellow members.

Come for the service. Stay for the friendships. 💙

🌳 ROTARIANS AT WORK! 🌳

We had a great time today at a work party at longtime Rotarian Dr. Teak Martin’s home!

Teak and his wife, Anne, purchased the Rotary work party at our annual auction in May, and today club members showed up ready to tackle some fall yard work. We trimmed back shrubbery, spread bark and managed to have way too much fun in the process. (We’re looking at you, Sheena! 😂)

Service Above Self sometimes involves work gloves, wheelbarrows and a lot of laughter. 💙💛

It was our pleasure to host our 20th-something annual golf scramble with our friends from across Area I in District 5050. We had winners. We had excited losers. We had feathered friends and a golf cart beverage gal. We even had a gallery of observers! A great time had by all.

Member Chuck Ruhl talked about his career in funeral services and insurance. It was a fascinating story about a man who spent years helping families during their time of grief. What a journey! 💛💙

It was an amazing night with blues rocking the stage, featuring The Stacy Jones Band. The rain held of and the crowds packed the park. Our raffle did great and we were able to raise some funds for our sponsoring vendors who lost sales due to the rain cancellation last week. Support local and support your small businesses. The perfect picnic package. $5 tickets. It’s a beautiful day for a concert at Riverfront Park, 8/2 from 6-8pm
