🎓 Calling All Sedro-Woolley Rotary Scholarship Recipients! 🎓

Were you awarded a Sedro-Woolley Rotary scholarship at some point in your educational journey?

As we prepare for the 49th Annual Great Sedro-Woolley Footrace on Saturday, July 4, we'd love to invite you to join us in the spirit of Rotary's motto: Service Above Self.

If you're not planning to run or walk in the race, would you consider volunteering for a couple of hours between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.?

We could use help with:
🍊 Cutting oranges for runners at the finish line
💧 Pouring water and assisting at refreshment stations
🚦 Helping monitor street corners and traffic control points
🏁 Assisting with race logistics and other miscellaneous tasks

The Great Sedro-Woolley Footrace raises funds for the Sedro-Woolley Rotary Foundation's scholarship program, helping future students pursue their educational goals. Many scholarship recipients have gone on to do incredible things, and we'd love the opportunity to reconnect and have you be part of this longstanding community tradition.

Whether you received a scholarship this year, last year or decades ago, we'd be grateful for your help.

If you're available, please send us a message or comment below and we'll get you connected with our volunteer team.

Thank you for helping us continue a tradition of giving back and supporting the next generation of students.

We were so happy to have SWHS’s Mariachi Band perform today. We are proud supporters of the band, purchasing many of the instruments needed during the first year of the school’s program.

One of the best things we can do with auction funds is support the youth in our community. Today was one of those days. We were able to surprise the Life Skills team at Cascade Middle School with a $2,000 check for classroom supplies. These staff members are the unsung heroes of many of our local families. Rotary is proud to support them!

We love having new members who go above and beyond! That includes Tiffany Boggs whose one year anniversary of being a Rotarian was today!

And, of course, as good Rotarians we typically avoid politics, but we are happy to congratulate the newly appointed Sedro-Woolley Mayor, our very own member, JoEllen Kesti.

When we say we build goodwill and better friendships in Rotary, we aren’t joking! But the friendship these two developed during the past year is the best kind: they announced their recent nuptials at today’s meeting. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. McIlraith. We’re lucky to have you both as members and excited to update your badges and the membership directory! ❤️

Had a great work party at Thompson Pond in the new Olmsted Park this morning. Planted about 40 western red cedar trees around the pond. Help us watch out for these trees and in about 30 years they’ll be big enough for folks to picnic under!
