The Red Dirt Concert Series kicks off this Friday at Posse Grounds Park!

RED DIRT CONCERT SERIES - GARRETT JAMES AND THE WANDERERS, AND THE SEA MONKS: SEPTEMBER 4

Our first free Red Dirt Concert Series show of the fall season is Friday, September 4 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Garrett James and the Wanderers open the show with their vinyl-era blues influenced combination of rock, bluesy licks, stirring riffs and heart-inspiring lyrics. The Sea Monks follow with their own brand of ‘Swampy-Tonk’, pulling from a wide range of influences from western swing to punk rock.

Pack a chair or blanket, bring your friends, and enjoy a great night of free live music under the open sky at the beautiful and iconic Pavilion at Posse Grounds Park (525 Posse Ground Rd.)

Craig Childs Is Coming to the Verde! 🌿

Acclaimed naturalist, author, and explorer Craig Childs will headline the 2026 State of the Verde Watershed Conference, September 15–17 at Cliff Castle Casino Hotel in Camp Verde.

Known for his powerful storytelling and deep knowledge of the American Southwest, Childs connects science, ecology, geology, culture, and the human experience of place. His keynote will offer a fresh perspective on the Verde watershed as a living story—one that connects communities, cultures, and generations.

This year’s theme, “One Watershed, Many Voices: Science, Policy, and People,” highlights the collaboration needed for a healthy, resilient Verde.

The three-day conference will feature leading experts, the 2025 Verde Watershed Report Card, and field trips showcasing restoration and stewardship efforts across the watershed.
