What an incredible, historic week in Northern Arizona! We are so stoked and honored to have even been a small part of the 2026 !

Beyond the big feels for ’s record-breaking win, we’re also so proud of the organizers for making sustainability and waste diversion a major part of their planning.

Capturing food scraps at aid stations along the 253-mile course raises the bar for events and races everywhere. We applaud their effort and care, and we look forward to working together to help make this the new normal in Northern AZ and beyond!

Heart full 💚 What an Earth Day to remember!

The first thing that I feel like I need to say about yesterday’s big Earth Day Ribbon Cutting Baler Reveal + Fundraiser at is how nearly every single person who attended was part of the Crowd. It almost felt like a special gift to Brock and I that we got to see and connect with so many Sedona Crowd members unexpectedly on Earth Day.

To me, it reads as members of the Crowd are people who really care — about food waste diversion, about recycling, about Earth Day, about their community, and they show up! 🫶🏻

To see the three founders of Sedona Recycles there and together for the first time in over a decade was momentous. Grateful to be there beside our friends at the Sustainability Team, providing zero-waste refreshments, and the made it an Earth Day event we won’t soon top!

Happy Earth Day week! 🌎We are busy little bees 🐝 out in the community!

Earth Day Celebration in Flagstaff with the City yesterday, the annual plant sale with the Sedona Village Rotary today, and, as you know, with on Earth Day (Wednesday) for their big ribbon-cutting and fundraiser!

Come see us until noon today at the plant sale in the Village of Oak Creek by the library, and get your first month of residential collection service for free when you join the Crowd in honor of Earth Day!

(A story that I don’t think I’ve ever put on social media is that when we first started Compost Crowd in January 2018 it was our “get your first month of service free for Earth Day“ promo in April that properly launched the business by signing up our first 40 households!

So, it’s a bit nostalgic every year to welcome new members into the Crowd in that same way!

Flagstaff, we are so excited to see you at tomorrow’s big Earth Day celebration at Bushmaster Park starting at 11 AM!

We were sad when last year‘s event was rained out, so we’re even more excited to be in the community for this big moment! It’s super special being in the sustainability world to have events and celebrations dedicated to Earth Day.

It’s a great opportunity to bring attention to the significance of environmental impact and ways that individuals and organizations can continue to increase their sustainability efforts! 🌎🌱♻️💚

Sometimes it’s easy to feel powerless to influence positive change. What we love about composting is that it’s an extremely simple behavior shift that has a massive impact on the planet, our community, the atmosphere, soil quality, water use, and more.

Keeping organic matter like kitchen scraps out of the landfill and returning them to the earth is one of the most powerful things a household, business, restaurant, events can do to increase their environmental responsibility in a meaningful way.

Compost Crowd exists to make that habit as accessible as possible in Sedona and Flagstaff.

You don’t have to build and maintain your own compositing project, you just have to put your banana peels in a bin, and we do the rest 🫶🏻 We’ve got you.

We were honored to be recognized by the with nominations for an ATHENA Award and the Flagstaff Green Business category.

Though we didn’t win, it was an inspiring event meeting the remarkable women contributing to the community in a meaningful way. A big congratulations to , and Caitlin Burd — the 2026 ATHENA awardees!

To our beloved Crowd, never forget that these nominations are yours. We do this work WITH you and when Compost Crowd is being elevated in this way it is YOUR daily habit and commitment to food waste diversion and environmental sustainability that is being recognized. If your regularly scheduled collection falls next week, here’s what to expect:

• Flagstaff (86004 & 86005): We’ll be coming to you on Monday instead of Thursday.

• West Sedona: Your collection will take place on Wednesday, as usual.
