I will be voting NO for prop 483- the zoning change that will allow homeless car camping in at the cultural park.

This is a disaster in the making.

Prop 483 is being peddled as a workforce homeless camp, yet anti discrimination laws WILL NOT allow the homeless car camp to actually limited to those who work here.

Ever since this zoning change was pushed by our council, this “sucky idea” (Mayor Scott Jablow’s own words in the UK Guardian, international press) subsequently made the global news, there has been an obvious new wave of people without homes in front of Bashas and Safeway.

This is not a solution. It’s a compounding problem in the making.

This idea has been tried elsewhere with damming results.

While the intention may be pure, it is a backwards solution, that has been proven to create MORE problems for a community.

This is very concerning to me.

I do not agree with the City of Sedona purchasing the 40 ACRES that is the Cultural Park.

Please attend todays council meeting to hear their discussion on it.

There are many reasons why this would be a bad idea.

The city already owns 300 acres outside of Sedona. What do they need 40 acres in prime real estate for?

I have very little confidence that this property would be developed or managed appropriately by the city.

Let the free market live. Do not rubber stamp more government expansion.

Please share.

My Dear Friends and Family of Sedona,

I have taken time to reflect thoroughly on these profound nine months we have shared together. I have already spoken to so many of you and share the disappointment of the election results.

In life we often become absorbed by particulars of outcomes and what they “must” look like. While the results of Nov 8th feel like a punch to the gut and there is much to be debated, I can’t help but pause to consider that there is always a silver lining.

While it is antithetical to believe that the individual who ran against me could possibly be the best choice for mayor of Sedona, I do believe that the universe has aligned this piece of the puzzle with intention.

The positives of where we currently stand are too great to ignore. In my view, there is no defeat here. There is only a bolstering presence of a united community of strong minded, sensible, and conscious Sedona residents who have even more conviction than before the election to stand for what is right for our community.

In this current freedom of remaining outside the political arena, a framework is being defined so that we may push forward together.

Policy that makes sense for our community remains the main focus. I will keep you abreast with the details on how we intend to push forward to keep our sweet Sedona, sacred.

I have the deepest gratitude for each and every one of you and the spirit of conviction by which you are led.

Together, Sedona will rise.

With so much love and unwavering conviction,

Samaire ✨

The numbers are still trickling in, but it looks like I did not get the votes to be Sedonas mayor.

We as a community gathered with all our heart as soul over the last half year.

While it looks as if we did not get the results we hoped for, our intention behind the gathering of collective energy and intention remains. We continue to push forward.

I pray Mr Jablow leads with integrity and open mindedness to the half of the community who’s votes he did not receive.

We will continue forward to create Sedona in the vision of a heart centered community driven by common sense policy.
