π Thank You, Sedona β The Community Jubilee Was Pure Magic! What an incredible day at Posse Grounds!
From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU to everyone who came out, enjoyed the festivities, bought concessions supporting the youth, and donated to support youth scholarships in the arts. Together, we raised $555 for young Sedonans to pursue their creative dreams. That's community in action. π
For me (Jean For Sedona City Council), it was such a joyous sight to see Sedonans of all ages from 2 to 90 enjoying a community celebration together, and if you missed the ballet lesson with all ages from toddlers to seniors participating, it was one of the sweetest sights Iβve seen all year.
π©° A standing ovation for Jessica Phillips of Sedona Dance Academy (https://www.sedonadanceacademy.org), who brought the gift of ballet to our event, both through a beautiful lesson and through her students' stunning, generous solo performances. If you haven't seen what these young dancers can do, you're missing out. Check out SDA and enroll your kids!
π¨ To our incredible visual artists who turned the Jubilee into a canvas for creativity:
β¨ Jen Farnsworth- https://jennfarnsworth.com/art/ - Jen brought art supplies and her abundant creative spirit, helping kids and adults alike tap into something beautiful. Explore her gorgeous work at jennfarnsworth.com/art
β¨ Allison Nichols - https://allisonraenichols.com - Allison showed up with canvases, paint, and pure inspiration. Watching so many kids discover the joy of painting because of her generosity was one of the highlights of the day.
β¨ Alex Rovang of Rovang Ceramics - https://rovangceramics.com - Alex shared laughter, stories, and clay with countless kids who got their hands dirty in the best way possible. Check out his beautiful work and go to his studio on Contractors Rd to paint your own ceramic work of art.
β¨ Mark Rownd - https://capricornhill.org - Art historian and owner of Capricorn Hill Gallery, Mark didn't just educate us on Sedona's remarkable surrealist art history, he brought a handmade chess board and challenged kids to match wits with a true champion. The chess matches were electric! Visit capricornhill.org to explore his incredible gallery.
