There are several misconceptions about renting to individuals and families with Housing Choice Vouchers.
The benefits include program eligibility pre-screening, guaranteed income, lower turnover rates, and family obligations for continued assistance.
Becoming a landlord that houses a voucher participant does not require you to house multiple participants. Participants are subject to the same local landlord-tenant laws and lease violation rules as any other renter you may house. The major difference is that if an HCV tenant becomes unemployed the housing assistance payment can increase to cover the rent. This safety net for landlords does not exist for many other types of renters.

We have 67 green plastic chairs and 20 blue fabric chairs available for free. You have the option of taking all 67 of the green chairs, all 20 of the blue chairs or all 87 chairs, but we will not separate them into smaller groups. Pick up will be at the Sedalia Housing Authority Main Office. If interested, call (660)827-1400 ext. 1900 to schedule a time to view or pick them up.
