After 2 months of thought I have come to the decision it is time to set the record straight and to close the book on a portion of my life that I have truly enjoyed and will miss.

After almost 14 years on the Secor fire department I was removed from the roster. I have heard a few different rumors that I had left on my own but this is not true. I wish I could say that I agreed with what happened but I do not. I will always have respect for the Secor fire department and EMS, but the current leadership I have no respect for. The fire department has opened a new page for your information (Secor IL fire protection district) due to inability to use the page originally opened by myself and a former member of the department. What they did not mention is that the reason they cannot access the account because the chief has not asked me for access. To me this shows how the new department works. The chief did not even have the decency to tell me they were having a meeting to remove me or tell me I had been removed he left that to the captain and I was not allowed to speak on my defense. With all that being said I hope the best for the department as an entity but myself I do not intend to have anything to do with anyone affiliated with the department that treated me like they did. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to serve the community and make the friends that I did. I will miss this portion of my life as well as the people that I worked with and the support of the community. I will miss you all, good luck.

It is with great pleasure the Secor Fire Protection District can announce that we have received a grant through Compeer Financial to purchase some new hose! This hose will be replacing hose sections that have failed to meet annual testing/inspections over the past years. We are fortunate to be able to participate in grant programs, such as this one, to help purchase much needed equipment to provide the best possible service to the citizens of our fire district. A big thank you to Compeer Financial for providing this program to emergency providers!

Secor Fire Protection District would like to thank the Eureka-Goodfield, El Paso, and Roanoke Fire Protection Districts for responding to our house fire this morning. We would also like to thank the Eureka-Goodfield, El Paso, and Roanoke Ambulances for handling the transports of our patients and Congerville Ambulance for backfilling Eureka-Goodfield to assist with any secondary calls. A big thank you goes to the Woodford County Fire Investigation Team, Wood-Com, and the Woodford County Sheriffs Department. It is great to see so many agencies come together and work as one team!

At 9:57 AM this morning we were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 309 E Field St in Secor. It was reported that everyone was out of the structure on the initial alarm. We called for mutual aid within minutes of receiving the alarm. Upon arrival of the scene we confirmed everyone was out of the house and had the fire brought under control within less than 15 minutes. The fire was contained to one room and the attic area with smoke and heat damage throughout the rest of the home. Eureka-Goodfield ambulance handled EMS for the call and transported 9 patients: 3 adults and 6 children with non-life threatening injuries.

We would like to give a big thank you to Eureka-Goodfield FPD, Roanoke FPD, El Paso FPD, Benson FPD, Woodford County Fire Investigation Team, Woodcom, and the Woodford County Sheriffs Department for all the assistance at our structure fire last night. Also, we would like to thank Metamora FD for providing coverage to the responding districts for any secondary calls while we were on scene. One last shout out to Providence Ag for bringing a semi tanker out to help shuttle water. Thank you to a Job well done everyone!

We are pleased to officially announce that we were selected to receive a grant through the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. This money will go towards purchasing new rescue equipment and upgrading some existing extrication equipment. We were very fortunate to receive this grant as only 25% of the applicants were successfully awarded.
