Our Story

The Re-Imagine Sebring, Ohio Group was created from the Sebring Business Association, and is represented by small business, the municipal government, the faith community, our school district, and area residents. Of special emphasis with regard to Sebring is the preservation and maintenance of downtown Sebring as a viable location for retail and service businesses. With the help of the Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP), we have put together an analysis of community strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.

Moving forward, our efforts have led to the planned pursuit of projects and activities in several disparate areas:

Branding and marketing the community. We are working to present to the region a unified “whole” and overcome negative perceptions, pursuing a marketing strategy to spur new economic development, while looking into ways to capitalize on Sebring’s historical significance. With the help of our Village Council, we are looking forward to a more up to date community website that will link all aspects of our town, for the betterment of all.

Assisting the existing small business community and entrepreneurs. Quarterly round table meetings are open to any business in the Sebring area, opening and spurring channels of communication to empower the local business community and create new linkages and possibilities. Developing a better equipped local workforce, and matching employers’ needs with the skills of the local workforce have been discussed. An Ice House program is planned to help develop entrepreneurial skills and mindsets, as well as a local ASPIRE program which will assist students in achieving a GED.
