Happy 4th to my extended Sebec Village 4th of July 5k family! I am missing seeing all of your smiling faces but wishing you all the best of health and safety this year. But seriously why are you all smiling when I give the announcements? You all know what lies ahead of you in the coming 3.1 miles, a little fear in your faces would be nice. In other unfortunate news this was a year of considerable seismic activity in the Sebec Lake region so I had it on good authority that the hill is indeed lower. Oh well, here is hoping it doesn’t move up in 2021! Be safe out there, have fun and keep considering what sort of shape I will be in next year. Y’all would have been lucky this year.😉

Sebec Lake Family..... it is with sad hearts that we are officially canceling the 2020 5k. We cannot host the race while adhering to the social distancing guidelines for Maine. And since many of you (including us!) live out of state, ensuring that quarantining for two weeks happens before the race is simply not possible.

I am working on trying to come up with a way to have a virtual race, so stay tuned. I have one idea....

While it pains us to cancel, I would much rather do that to keep everyone safe and healthy so that we are sure to see you all again in 2021.

We have online registration! Please note that we have already ordered shirts. We will do the best that we can to get you the size you request, but cannot guarantee it.

The Sebec Village 5k is on Thursday July 4, 2019.

Did you think we forgot about this race? We didn’t!! Race is on for July 4th.

Details:
Entry fee - $15 for the 5k
Start time - 8am

Kids 1k fun run - free to anyone 12 and under.
Start time - 7:45

We will be at the Reading Room starting at 6:30 am to take registrations. Come early if you want a T-shirt!

If you would like to pre-register, let me know and we can work out some details.

Hello Running Friends! Road Race is on for this year. July 4th @ Sebec Reading Room.

Awards are in (so fancy) and race numbers are ready to go! Kids fun run will start at 7:55(ish) followed by the 5k. If you are planning on running the 5k, please arrive by 7:40 to register so that we have time to set everything up in the computer. You can also email me with your information and I will preregister you and your group. Payment will be due on race day. Still $15 per person (free kids 1k).

Remember, shirts are on a first-come, first-served basis. Preregistering will not guarantee you a shirt, just helps me with the set up.
