On September 4, 2026 at approximately 10:30 PM, officers responded to the 200 block of Periwinkle Drive in reference to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male suspect and a 44-year-old male victim. The suspect, identified as Daniel Fontanez, attacked and inflicted serious bodily injury on the victim using a weapon. During the course of the attack, a 34-year-old female was struck by the suspect. The female victim sustained minor non-life-threatening injury. The 44-year-old male victim was transported to a nearby medical facility by helicopter due to the severity of his injuries. Within approximately one hour of the attack taking place, Fontanez was located and taken into custody without any further incident or injury. There is no known risk of public safety as it at this time as it relates to this incident.
The investigation is still active and out of respect for those directly involved/impacted by this event, there is no further information available at this time.
