They say an EOD tech dies twice— the first when their heart stops, the second when their name is no longer spoken.

Today, at the EOD Memorial Wall at Eglin Air Force Base, we spoke every name.

We honor warriors who walked the long, lonely path toward danger so others could live. They didn’t do it for glory, fame, or medals. They did it because the mission demanded it—and because lives depended on it.

We remember how they lived. We carry them forward. They will never be forgotten.

Hooyah EOD.

Forged in 1796. Still lethal today.

On April 20th, we honor the authorization of the U.S. Navy’s first six frigates, ships built for speed, strength, and dominance at sea. That same warfighting spirit lives on in today’s fleet.

Forward. Lethal. Ready.

Today we celebrate 133 years of leadership, tradition, and deckplate excellence. Happy Birthday to the Chief Petty Officer! ⚓

Since 1893, Chiefs have stood as the backbone of the Navy, guiding Sailors with unmatched experience, accountability, and pride. The anchors we wear represent more than a rank, they symbolize a commitment to lead, to teach, and to uphold the highest standards of our service.

To all Chiefs past and present, thank you for your dedication, your sacrifice, and your unwavering leadership.

On we honor the extraordinary valor of service members who went above and beyond the call of duty.

Join us as we reflect on their service and sacrifice, like that of retired U.S. Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams who earned our nation’s highest honor by overcoming overwhelming odds in a 35-minute solo dogfight against seven Soviet MiG-15 jets.

After remaining classified for decades, his story of incredible heroism only recently received the recognition it deserves.

The Citizen Sailor

The Navy Reserve has always been built on the idea of citizen Sailors. Men and women who serve in uniform while building civilian lives and careers.

That was true when this poster went up after World War II. It’s true today.

Doctors, engineers, pilots, firefighters, teachers, athletes, and data analysts, drilling on weekends, deploying when the nation calls, and returning to the communities they serve.

For 111 years – Ready then. Ready now.

RTAG Northwest Leadership met at Naval Base Everett for its quarterly production meeting, bringing together sailors spanning 16 different states across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The team shared lessons learned, exchanged stories from the field, and discussed ways to strengthen collaboration across the region.

The prior service, OSVET, and Reserve mission remains essential to ensuring experienced warfighters have a pathway back into service while strengthening the fleet with proven leadership and operational knowledge.

Opportunities like this help keep our network aligned, sharpen our mission, and bring the team even closer together. Grateful for the leadership and commitment shown by everyone who continues to support our sailors and the RTAG community.
