295 public school districts in all WA communities. In 2012, Washington's Initiative 1240 created an expensive new system of privately operated — but publicly funded — charter schools in Washington that will:
* Not solve real problems — like overcrowded classrooms
* Serve only a tiny fraction of students - most kids wont' have access
* Drain up to $100 million from existing public schools
* Force a discredited idea into our public education system
* Lacks real oversight and accountability

The state Supreme Court got it right — fund quality education for EVERY child. They confirmed what parents, teachers and community leaders have been saying for years. We must fix our broken education system with solutions proven to work in the classroom — so ALL children can succeed. Please join the Washington State PTA, the League of Women Voters Washington, Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA), NAACP Seattle-King County Chapter, Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA), El Centro de la Raza, Japanese-American Citizens League, and thousands of Washington citizens in voting “NO” on I-1240!
