When school lets out for summer, so do the daily meals many kids rely on.

For families across Washington, that can mean stretching groceries a little further and finding new ways to keep everyone nourished. That’s where SUN Bucks can make a difference. With $120 per eligible child, families have added support to fill their carts and keep meals on the table all summer long.

Many families are already enrolled through programs like SNAP, TANF, or free school meals. But for others, a simple step—like submitting a CNEEB form to your child’s school—can help unlock this benefit.

Because every child deserves access to healthy, nourishing food—no matter the season.

Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

This month, we honor the stories of families who crossed oceans, built new beginnings, and shaped communities across the country. We celebrate the elders who preserved language and tradition, the young people redefining identity with pride, and the generations whose courage, creativity, and leadership continue to open doors for others. From movements for civil rights to breakthroughs in art, food, science, and culture, AANHPI communities have woven their experiences into the fabric of our shared story -often in ways that go unseen but are felt everywhere.

Swipe through to explore the voices, histories, and everyday moments that continue to inspire and strengthen our communities.

Sunday Funday Cartoons!

This long weekend reminds us to step outside and take the road less traveled, because good food keeps us moving forward. Whether it's a road trip or chasing life goals, great food is always part of the journey.

May is Older Americans Month!

This month, we recognize and honor older adults, who improve our communities through intergenerational relationships, community service, civic engagement, and many other activities.

One of the more critical issues facing older Americans is food insecurity. Across Washington, more than 950,000 people rely on SNAP and nearly one-third are seniors or people with disabilities. As costs continue to rise, more older adults are turning to community support. In the last year alone, our network partners served 472,893 seniors (ages 55+)—a 19% increase from 396,576 the year before—showing just how quickly the demand is growing.

These food banks are essential for providing healthy meals for seniors. Food banks also fill an important role by bringing people together to provide a sense of community, connection and companionship.

The 2026 theme, Flip the Script on Aging, focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging. This year, join us in honoring older adults’ contributions, exploring the many opportunities for staying active and engaged as we age, and highlighting the opportunities for purpose, exploration, and connection that come with aging. Together, we can give back to those who have given us so much of their time, hard work and wisdom.
