We could not do what we do at Seattle Parks and Recreation without the active support of our community partners and volunteers. Whether it’s spending a Saturday morning pulling invasive species like English Ivy or Himalayan Blackberry from our precious urban forests or dedicating hours after work to help at-risk teens achieve goals that improve self esteem and create opportunities for the future, our volunteers are a vital part of our success.

We’re excited to officially welcome Parque Libertad to South Park!

The new name celebrates freedom as a universal value and recognizes the individuals and communities who have worked to advance civil rights, equality and opportunity throughout Seattle’s history. We got a novel idea: come be a reading tutor at James Baldwin CLC!

Support small groups of students build their reading skills in a fun and supportive learning environment. Tutoring hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5:15pm., and we ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one quarter. Want to learn more? Email [email protected] for details and to sign up!

Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center is seeking a to coach the Middle School Mock Trial team this school year! Qualified applicants should have experience as an attorney and be 21+. Practice is twice a week on weekday evenings, plus occasional scrimmages and competitions. Interested in learning more? Seattle Parks and Recreation is excited to share a unique volunteer opportunity at Delridge Community Center, and we’re hoping you can help us spread the word.

We are seeking a volunteer Martial Arts Instructor/Sensei with advanced Karate experience and affiliation with a dojo to teach youth Karate classes. Instruction includes techniques, strategies, movements, games, and end-of-quarter skill tests. Classes run quarterly (2–3 months at a time), twice per week, for 1–2 hours per session. Our next session begins in the Fall Quarter, and applications for this role should be sent by August 28 to prepare for a September 14 start.

Volunteering at Delridge CC offers a chance to support a diverse neighborhood and make a real impact by sharing your skills with local youth and families.

Harvest Fest – September 26, 2026
Help with event setup, activity stations, or cleanup at our family-friendly harvest celebration in Ravenna-Eckstein Park.

Haunted Hunt – October 15 & 16, 2026
Support this spooky escape-room-style experience by helping set up or take down, or by serving as a storyteller, scarer, or game leader.

Halloween Carnival – October 16, 2026
Assist with setup, running carnival games, or cleanup during our annual Halloween Carnival inside the REC gym.

Is your teenager looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities this summer while taking care of high school service requirements? Apply to be a Junior Counselor-In-Training at Montlake Community Center!

Responsibilities include:
- Being good internal leaders/first followers
- Supporting camper safety and experience (volunteers may be asked to "be a buddy" to individual campers)
- Playing games / participating in activities with kids (ages 5-12)
- Supporting supervision of camps and lunch clubs with an adult leader

Applicants must be between 15 and 19 and available for a minimum of 4 weeks between June 25 and August 21. Learn more and apply at [email protected].
