Renters deserve to know what they’ll *actually* pay before signing a lease and shouldn’t have to pay excessive fees. Join us Tuesday, Sept 1, at 9:30 a.m. for a hybrid meeting of the Health, Housing, and Human Services Committee, where we’ll get a briefing on rental fee transparency, looking at the fees renters can face on top of their advertised monthly rent and what other jurisdictions have done to address junk fees so tenants can make informed decisions when comparing rental rates.
The committee will also discuss a long-term plan for investing behavioral health sales tax revenues in mental health and substance use treatment and review the latest annual report on King County’s Health Through Housing initiative. You can find more information on these topics and other agenda items in our meeting packet here: bit.ly/HHHS-packet.
