Today we celebrated the completion of the Bell Street Improvements project-- and the last substantial project to be completed as part of the Waterfront Seattle Program-- with a ribbon cutting! Mayor Katie Wilson, CM Bob Kettle, Belltown leaders and community members joined us to celebrate the occasion. Our improvements on Bell Street have added amenities and a two-way protected bike lane on a narrowed roadway to promote pedestrian safety. The restored sign bridge, the only remaining physical marker of Alaskan Way Viaduct, now acts as a gateway to Belltown, near a previous viaduct off-ramp. Our sincerest gratitude to the Belltown neighbors for their patience through construction and those who joined us for this special occasion.
