Cascade Playground

Cascade Playground Cascade Playground is a neighborhood park tucked into South Lake Union. There is a playground, p-patch, YMCA people's center, and big play field.

The programming and activation in Cascade Playground is organized through a public-private partnership, by a group of Cascade and South Lake Union neighbors, small business owners, non-profits, and community leaders. All programming in the park is free to the public, and encourages access to the outdoors, fostering community building and engagement through free activities, with a focus on increase

d access to art, music, culture, youth and family activities, health and fitness, sustainability and community building. While all classes, events and equipment are free to the public, we are fortunate to be able to pay instructors, artists, performers, and other vendors through our grant funding and private donations. Vendors who are Minority and Women Owned Businesses are encouraged to contact us with a proposal to provide services in Cascade Playground. We welcome all applications and ideas for creative ways to activate the park. Please contact Zoe at [email protected] with inquiries.

Spread the word! Free lunches for students in the Rainier Beach Community.

Spread the word! WA-BLOC providing free hot lunch for students in the Rainier Beach Community tomorrow and every Tuesday/Thursday while schools remain closed!

*UPDATE!!! We have updated serving time to 1-3pm at the Rainier Beach Community Center Plaza so we do not directly overlap with SPS lunch distribution time!

Please do not come if you are over 60 or have underlying health conditions.

Please do not come if you or anyone in your household has any sick symptoms.

We will have several sanitation stations. You must sanitize before receiving your food box.

We will be marking recommended 6 feet of social distance with chalk to ensure any line that forms will meet social distance requirements.

Students/families must 'grab' food boxes and 'go' and will not be allowed to stay and eat to ensure we stay under 50 people at all times.

Thank you for understanding and helping keep us all safe!
