Hitting your feed with another post, featuring our new Foresting Seattle program 🌲🧤🌱

Foresting Seattle is a collaborative program of City and community partners working to protect and grow urban forests in areas that need them the most. Community members in low-income and BIPOC neighborhoods often have fewer trees and experience higher rates of climate change impacts like extreme heat, flooding, and air pollution ☀️

Urban forests provide cool shade, improve air and water quality, manage runoff, and attract people. This new City of Seattle Government program will grow tree canopy in focus neighborhoods, empower community leadership, restore green spaces, and provide youth with employment opportunities 🍃

Thank you to our partners in this work Green Seattle Partnership, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, ECOSS Trees for Seattle, Seattle City Light, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Utilities and more 🤝 And to the thousands of community members who volunteer in our forests every year!
