With the beautiful weather lately, our members and staff have been out exploring local parks, beaches, and trails! We’ve certainly enjoyed our share of sunshine... but we promise we saved enough for everyone else to enjoy as well.😆☀️

This past weekend, Vitalize Kitsap and Stephens House walked in the Grand Old Fourth parade on Bainbridge Island and had a wonderful time passing out candy and chatting with friends.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at SEA Discovery Center for welcoming Vitalize Kitsap and introducing us to their wonderful marine friends! Our members and staff had an amazing time exploring, learning, and interacting with the beautiful sea creatures. 🐙🐟

Vitalize Kitsap proudly showed our love and support for our LGBTQ+ community at this weekend’s Pride Festival at the Bainbridge Island Waterfront Park! ❤️🏳️‍🌈

One of VK’s values is providing a safe space for everyone. At pride, we handed out free bracelets and keychains crafted by members and staff, along with fresh cold drinks to help people combat the sunny, warm day. Our booth also featured a fun coloring area for anyone who wanted to share their creativity! We hope everyone enjoyed their time at the festival and left feeling celebrated, welcomed, and connected! 🥰

Puget Sound’s cooling breeze + sunshine = the perfect excuse to have a walk on the beach.☀️Our members wandered along the shore at Point No Point Lighthouse & Park, scavenging for pretty rocks and shells… we even got to see some seals and orcas in the water!🦭🐬Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air and sun.💕🏝️

Partnering with the wonderful people at IslandWood, our members enjoyed an engaging day exploring the woods and learning about how the gardens worked.

Throughout the visit, they discovered different types of herbs and how they can be used in cooking, discussed various species of bees and their behaviors, and deepened their understanding of the beautiful nature around us. The hands-on activities provided also made the experience even more memorable — members helped w**d the gardens, picked mint leaves to dry for future use, and took part in composting. 🌱☀️

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at IslandWood for creating such an enriching experience for our members, and to everyone who continues to support VK. 💕

Spring has officially arrived, and our members are loving every minute of the sunshine! VK has been taking advantage of the beautiful weather, heading out on more hikes and outdoor adventures!☀️

Sometimes we forget that our small island nonprofits are able to serve our community because of the amazing staff that work at them. Little moments like this remind me of the hearts that VK attracts to work there. This was a wonderful surprise to find in my mail box that our members and other staff made without letting anything slip!
