When it comes to performance, our own reality is stronger than actual reality. You can be in debt but see yourself as debt free and your habits and daily behavior will lead to becoming debt free. On the other hand , you can be on the road to becoming debt free and see yourself as a loser that will never get ahead and your own thoughts and reality will sabotage your future .

The constant companion to wanting something new is comparison. It is true with marriages or relationships, with homes, with our careers, with our families and it is especially true in our finances. If we want to be truly happy, we need to stop comparing. And if we want to live according to a budget we need to stop thinking about spending and replace it with saving. We need to see the benefits of less stress and more margin.

The chief competitor for my heart is not the devil, its STUFF. Life is better with margin. Jesus said it like this in Mathew 6:24 - No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted tone and despise the other. You can not serve both God and money.

The challenge in creating margin is not because its difficult its because it takes discipline. More MARGIN = less stress and higher quality of living.
