We invite all first responders to take part in the walk through to honor Chief Collins. Please plan to arrive and line up by 4:45 PM in the grass at the northeast corner of Speer Funeral Home.

All fire, EMS, and law enforcement are welcome and encouraged to participate. Please come in uniform if possible. This is our opportunity as a first responder community to show up for one of our own and give Chief Collins the send-off he deserves.

Following visitation at Speer Funeral Home this Saturday, June 6th, we invite the community to join us here at the Seaton Fire Station for a Celebration of Life in honor of our Chief, Brent Collins.

Brent gave so much of himself to this department and this community. It's only fitting that we celebrate his life in the place he loved and served so proudly.

All are welcome to join us at the station after visitation to share memories, a laugh, and celebrate the life of the man who gave so much to this community and this department. It's only right we honor him in the place he called home.

Desserts & Drinks: We are asking for donations of desserts and drinks for the Celebration of Life at the station. Drop-offs are welcome!

Monetary Donations for the Celebration: If you would like to contribute financially to the celebration, please reach out to Alecia Stuaan, SFPD Treasurer.

Monetary Donations to the Family: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in support of his children. Please contact Speer Funeral Home to contribute.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our Fire Chief, Brent Collins, who was killed in a car accident last night.

If you lived around here, chances are you knew Brent, or he'd helped you out at some point. He was a veteran who never stopped serving, whether it was answering a call in the middle of the night or just lending a hand to a neighbor who needed one. That was Brent, always showing up. When he wasn't looking out for the rest of us, you'd find him out deer hunting or fishing, doing what he loved most.

Brent leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, and a whole community that did too. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Please give them the time and space they need to grieve, and respect their privacy as they do.

Service details will be shared once they are available.

Chief, thank you for your service to our country and our community. You will be deeply missed.

We are watching a serious round of storms moving in today (Friday, April 17).

What to expect:
โ€ข Enhanced risk (3/5) for severe weather
โ€ข Damaging winds 70+ mph possible
โ€ข Tornadoes possible
โ€ข Heavy rain + flash flooding risk
โ€ข Storms likely this afternoon into tonight (1โ€“10 PM)

This system is part of a larger severe weather setup across Illinois and the Midwest, with wind and tornadoes being the main concerns.
