The Training Source is excited to host their upcoming Community Day on Saturday, September 19th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in the City of Seat Pleasant.

As part of this free community event, attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with employers representing a variety of industries and learn about current employment opportunities.

Participating employers include Western & Southern Life, Planet Fitness, The Home Depot, Capital One, ALDI, PNC Bank, and Prince George’s County Government.

In addition to meeting employers, Community Day will provide attendees with access to professional clothing, career-readiness resources, information about The Training Source programs, and other opportunities designed to support individuals as they prepare for their next career step.

If you are new to Maryland, or the City of Seat Pleasant, please come to Seat Pleasant City Hall (6301 Addison Rd.) to fill out a Maryland Voter Registration Application.

Maryland African Restaurant Week Returns September 16–26, Celebrating Food, Culture and Community Across the State with the Last Stop in Seat Pleasant!

African Restaurant Week is a multi-city initiative celebrating the diverse cuisines and cultures of Africa, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora.

Through restaurant promotions, festivals, chef experiences, cultural programming, and community partnerships, the initiative connects diners with local businesses while creating opportunities for economic development, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

Festival Finale Comes to Seat Pleasant September 26!

The celebration will culminate with the Maryland African Restaurant Week Festival on:

The family-friendly festival will bring together food, shopping, music, culture, and community for a full day of experiences.

One of the festival's signature attractions will be the Jollof “Taste & Vote” Competition, bringing together chefs and cooks representing different West African culinary traditions.

Restaurants, vendors, community organizations, sponsors, influencers, and other partners interested in participating in Maryland African Restaurant Week are encouraged to connect with the organizers.

Happy Labor Day!

Today we pause to honor the dedication, resilience, and unwavering spirit of American workers who have built this nation. A reminder that our progress is born from the collective effort of those who show up, day after day, to make a difference across every industry and community.

All City of Seat Pleasant Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th, 2026.

Waste Collection will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.
