The Seaside Police Department has received reports of scam phone calls targeting our community. Scammers often "spoof" phone numbers, making it appear as though they're calling from a local number, a government agency, or even law enforcement.

• You don't have to answer. If it's important, they'll leave a voicemail.
• Never provide personal information, banking information, passwords, or payment over the phone.
• Be suspicious of anyone demanding immediate payment or threatening arrest if you don't comply.
• Remember: The Seaside Police Department will never demand payment by gift cards, cryptocurrency, Venmo, Cash App, or wire transfer.
If someone claims to be from the Seaside Police Department and you're unsure if the call is legitimate, hang up and call our non-emergency line at (503) 738-6311.
