Seaside Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a string of vandalism incidents. Subject appears to be a white male, late 20s to early 30s, 5’10”, 200 lbs, wearing tan pants, a light tan/green camo hoodie, and glasses. It's that time of year again, Seaside! Students in our area will begin heading back to school on Monday, August 31st! The Seaside Police Department, in partnership with the Seaside School District, wants to remind all drivers to stay alert and help keep our students safe.
That means more buses, bikes, and pedestrians on the move—so let’s all drive with extra care.
Our officers will be out in school zones and along bus routes to keep everyone safe. A few quick reminders:
School zones = 20 mph, always. Traffic fines increase within school zones!
Avoid phones or distractions while driving. Your text or call can wait- keep it safe!
Stop and watch when red school bus lights are flashing. There were over 1,100 illegal passings observed by Seaside school bus drivers during the '25-'26 school year!
Always double-check for kids walking or biking at intersections, crosswalks, and driveways.

Seaside Police arrested a 41-year-old man following a stabbing late Wednesday night at the Helping Hands Reentry Center. The victim was hospitalized with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Read the full release:

Beginning Sunday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m., crews will inlay pave U.S. 26 between the overhead truss bridge and the Lindsey Creek Bridge (Milepost 0.5 through 5.85). Travelers should expect nighttime lane closures and delays on U.S. 26 south of Seaside while crews repair the pavement.

Work is scheduled Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is expected to continue through Aug. 18.

The Seaside Police Department has received reports of scam phone calls targeting our community. Scammers often "spoof" phone numbers, making it appear as though they're calling from a local number, a government agency, or even law enforcement.

𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒂 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒆:
• You don't have to answer. If it's important, they'll leave a voicemail.
• Never provide personal information, banking information, passwords, or payment over the phone.
• Be suspicious of anyone demanding immediate payment or threatening arrest if you don't comply.
• Remember: The Seaside Police Department will never demand payment by gift cards, cryptocurrency, Venmo, Cash App, or wire transfer.
