A delicious fundraiser

Last week our community suffered a terrible loss when many of our first responders were injured in the Fire at Robbins Lumber.
In support of these heroes, The Scone Goddess will be selling gift certificates for $25. These certificates are for 6 scones and 1 americano or hot tea. $20 of each purchase will be donated directly to the fund that has been set up for our first responders.

You may purchase these gift certificates at The Scone Goddess Bakery or by calling 207-323-0249 now through the end of June.
We are open Thursday - Saturday this week.
Starting May 26, we are open Tuesday - Saturday 7:30-12pm.

**** UPDATE- I will post any other info I receive from the organizing fire department regarding Go Fund Me or Donation requests as soon as it becomes available.

To our first responders, Thank you.

As many know, the Town of Searsmont has established a fund at the Town Office to directly support our local first responders injured in the fire. This fund is called the Robbins Lumber Fire Relief Fund, and donations can be made in person or by mail.

We also support the Maine Strong Memorial Foundation as another trusted option for giving, with the ability to accept online donations and ensure that 100% of funds are shared equally among all responders injured that day. We understand the hesitancy in donating online, and we as a town have done our due diligence to confirm the integrity of this effort. We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and compassion of our community - it is an honor to serve you.

The Maine Strong Memorial Foundation has officially launched an Emergency Relief Fund supporting the confirmed individuals and families impacted by the explosion and fire at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, Maine.

This tragedy has affected firefighters, first responders, individuals, families, and surrounding communities across Maine. As details continue to emerge, our goal is to begin raising funds immediately so support can be provided as quickly as possible to those impacted by this devastating event.

The Foundation is continuing to work directly with Town of Searsmont, Maine officials, local contacts, community representatives, and affected families throughout the campaign in a collaborative and unified effort to help confirm impacted individuals, coordinate support efforts, and ensure funds are distributed responsibly and transparently as additional information continues to emerge.

🗓 Campaign Dates: May 18–31, 2026

The Maine Strong Memorial Foundation will also match up to $1,000 for each confirmed individual impacted by this tragedy, including the family of firefighter Andrew Cross, who tragically lost his life.

At this time, donations will be collected centrally to allow support to be distributed fairly and efficiently among the confirmed individuals and families impacted by this tragedy.

100% of all donations raised through this campaign will go directly to the confirmed individuals and families impacted by this tragedy and will be distributed evenly among those who were injured or lost their lives as a result of the explosion.

We will continue sharing updates throughout the campaign as additional information becomes available and support efforts continue to progress.

Every donation, share, and message of support makes a difference during moments like these.

Our thoughts are with the firefighters, citizens, and families in the Town of Searsmont, Maine during this horrible tragedy.

The Town of Searsmont is aware that, following the fire at Robbins Lumber Mill, unofficial online fundraisers have already begun circulating. While many people want to help, these types of events unfortunately attract scam donation pages.

We encourage everyone to be vigilant and to double‑check the source of any fundraiser before contributing.

The Town of Searsmont will be establishing an official relief fund in the coming days to support individuals and families affected by the Robbins Lumber fire. Once the fund is fully set up, we will share the official donation instructions here on the Town’s page and on our website.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out wanting to help. Our community’s generosity is one of our greatest strengths, and we want to ensure that every dollar goes exactly where it’s intended.
