Last night, conducted training at Camp Casa Mare for water emergencies/firefighter survival.
Being that we are a costal community and sometimes respond to fires and other emergencies on docks; we went over the proper technique of what to do if we enter the water in our bunker gear.
We also spent some time going over how to safely remove a victim from the water.
Interested in these or other trainings…please feel free to stop by the station any Monday evening at 7:00PM and get some information.

Today, we want to recognize and celebrate the fathers who serve as members of the Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department. They do it without a paycheck, without recognition, and without expectation of reward. They do it because they genuinely care about the communities they live in and serve.

Day in and day out, the volunteers of the Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department provide a wonderful service to the citizens of Seabrook and El Lago. Whether it's a medical emergency, fire, rescue, severe weather event, or public service call, they are ready to respond when their community needs them most. What makes their service even more remarkable is that they do it for zero compensation. Their commitment is driven solely by a love for their community, a desire to help others, and a belief that serving their neighbors is one of life's greatest callings.

So…to the fathers who wear the SVFD patch; thank you for the sacrifices you make, the example you set, and the compassion you show every day. Your dedication not only protects our communities, but also demonstrates to future generations the true meaning of service, integrity, and selflessness.
From all of us, we wish you a very Happy Father's Day and thank you for being there…both at home and in the community.

We were sent a video of the Seabrook Police Officers Association practicing their "form". Looks like Officer Kim and the other officers are "hard at work" at practice.
Looks like that mercy rule is gonna their best friend.
I wonder if we can get H-E-B or Kleenex to provide some products for y'all for after the game.
See ya at the ball fields!!!!!

Come on out and support a great cause on Friday, July 24th at the North Meyer Baseball Fields. The Seabrook Police Officers Association has challenged to a game of kickball.

Bring the family, enjoy some friendly competition, and cheer on your favorite first responders. While we welcome support for both teams, we all know the crowd will be wearing red. 🚒

The Blue Team has been "training" hard, and we wish them the best of luck. They told us they've been doing extra cardio...apparently walking from the patrol car to the coffee shop counts now. In fact, we'll even have tissues available should they need them after the final score is posted.

This event is free for the public to attend...hope to see y'all out at the ball field.

We will be hosting our next on Monday, June29th at the Fire Station on East Meyer Avenue to support the Gulf Coast Blood.

Who benefits from blood donations? Well let us tell you:
🩸Trauma patients
🩸Cardiac surgery
🩸Cancer treatments
🩸Organ transplants
🩸Premature infants
🩸Emergency obstetric care

Houston area hospitals require approximately 1,000 blood donations daily to meet the need. One blood donation can save up to three lives, who wants to help and by donating their blood?

To signs up scan the QR code on the attached flyer, and simply stop by the station.

The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department participates in the Texas Emergency Services Retirement System(TESRS), providing a lifelong pension benefit for our dedicated members.

TESRS traces its roots to Senate Bill 411, authored by Senator Grant Jones and sponsored by Representative Dan Kubiak during the 65th Texas Legislature. Signed into law by Governor Dolph Briscoe in 1977, the legislation created the Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighters' Relief and Retirement Fund, providing Texas volunteer firefighters with one of the first statewide retirement systems in the nation.
To qualify for TESRS, a member must actively serve for 15 years, maintaining the required training and response participation standards. Once vested, members become eligible to receive retirement benefits at age 55.

As required by the system, the City of Seabrook serves as our sponsoring governing entity, allowing our members to participate in this valuable retirement program.

Today, we are proud to have 15 current and former members receiving these well earned benefits in recognition of their years of dedicated service to the citizens of Seabrook and El Lago.

If you are interested in joining our department please visit https://seabrooktx-fire-department.form.transform.civicplus.com/59339 and complete an application. If you have any questions, feel free to visit our fire station on E. Meyer any Monday evening at 7:00 PM and ask to speak with a member about joining. We offer many opportunities to serve, including Firefighting, First Response, Marine Operations, Rehabilitation, Support Services, and Junior Membership programs. We are confident we can find a division that matches your interests and allows you to make a meaningful impact in your community.

were requested to the Texas City Fire Department for a report of a boat on fire. The fire was safely extinguished and all SVFD units have returned to service. We would like to thank the Port of Houston Marine 2 for responding along with us to this incident.
Incidents like these are just another example of the importance of having the proper equipment and properly trained personnel to respond to incidents.

Update to post: All occupants were off the boat prior to our arrival. The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department does not handle cause and origin investigations of fires.
