Whale Branch Early College High School recently gathered to celebrate and honor four exceptional international teachers whose dedication, passion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the school community.

During a special farewell luncheon, faculty and staff shared laughter, tears, and countless memories as they reflected on the contributions these educators have made throughout their time at Whale Branch. Whale Branch Early College High School Graduation Ceremony Scheduled for June 1

SEABROOK, SC — Whale Branch Early College High School will celebrate the Class of 2026 during its graduation ceremony on Monday, June 1, at 7:00 p.m.

Guests attending the ceremony are advised that designated parking areas will be available, and shuttle service will be provided to transport attendees to the graduation venue. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow sufficient time for parking and shuttle transportation.

In the event of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be moved indoors to the school gymnasium. Due to limited seating capacity, admission to the indoor ceremony will require a ticket. Each graduating senior has been issued a specified number of tickets for family members and guests.

Graduates and their families should monitor school communications for any weather-related updates and additional event information.

Announces Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2026

WHALE BRANCH, S.C. — Whale Branch Early College High School proudly announces its Commencement Exercises for the graduating Class of 2026, scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at Earl Campbell Football Stadium on the campus of Whale Branch Early College High School. Family members, friends, faculty, staff, and community supporters are invited to celebrate the accomplishments and academic achievements of the graduating seniors.

The Class of 2026 represents a distinguished group of scholars who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and service throughout their high school journey. The commencement ceremony will recognize graduates for their dedication and prepare them for the next chapter of college, career, and community leadership.

School administrators encourage guests to arrive early to allow ample time for seating and parking prior to the start of the ceremony. Shuttle service will be available.

Whale Branch Early College High School Fine Arts Department Presents Ignite the Spotlight

Seabrook, SC — The Fine Arts Department at Whale Branch Early College High School proudly invites the community to attend an exciting evening of dance and performance at Ignite the Spotlight.

The special dance performance will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. Students will showcase their talent, creativity, and dedication through an inspiring lineup of performances designed to celebrate the performing arts.

Tickets are available for $5.50 and may be purchased through MySchoolBucks.

Community members, families, and supporters are encouraged to come out and support the students as they take the stage and “ignite the spotlight.”

Whale Branch Early College High School Celebrates Exceptional Teacher Appreciation Week

Whale Branch Early College High School recently celebrated an outstanding Teacher Appreciation Week filled with generosity, gratitude, and community support. Faculty and staff were honored throughout the week with meals, gifts, surprises, and themed activities that made this year’s celebration one of the most memorable in school history.

Teachers and staff were showered with appreciation from students, administrators, local businesses, churches, and community members who came together to recognize the dedication and hard work of educators at Whale Branch.

Each day featured sponsored meals provided by several area churches, including Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, First African Baptist Church-St. Helena Island, Friendship Holiness Church, and Mt. Pisgah AME Church. Their generous support helped create a warm and celebratory atmosphere for staff throughout the week.

Additional churches and community supporters contributed toys, gifts, and prizes that complemented the fun movie-themed celebrations planned for each day. Breakfast for faculty and staff was also provided by the school’s Future Business Leaders of America organization, whose members played an important role in showing appreciation to educators.

“The outpouring of love and support from the community was truly overwhelming,” Principal Mccanick shared. “Our teachers and staff felt valued, encouraged, and celebrated all week long.”

Teacher Appreciation Week at Whale Branch Early College High School served as a powerful reminder of the strong partnerships between the school and the surrounding community, and the shared commitment to supporting education and those who make a difference every day.

Whale Branch Early College High School Celebrates Dual Enrollment Graduates

Whale Branch Early College High School proudly salutes the outstanding accomplishments of 19 graduating seniors who have successfully completed the school’s Dual Enrollment Program in partnership with the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, 19 of these seniors will graduate from the Technical College of the Lowcountry earning either a college certification or degree while simultaneously completing their high school education. This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence demonstrated by these scholars throughout their high school careers.

Whale Branch Early College High School is extremely proud of these students for taking advantage of the opportunity to earn college credentials that will prepare them for future academic and career success. Their accomplishments exemplify the mission of the Early College program and highlight the value of providing students with rigorous and meaningful educational pathways.
