If you’re hitting the road with your pet, a little planning goes a long way. Here are a few quick tips to help keep your furry passenger safe and comfortable on your next adventure:

• Start with short car rides to help your pet get used to traveling
• Bring rabies vaccination records and any needed travel documents
• Use a secure, well-ventilated crate or a backseat harness—never let pets ride with their head out the window
• Pack a pet travel kit with food, water, medications, waste bags, and a favorite toy
• Feed pets a few hours before leaving, not while the car is moving
• Bring bottled water to avoid stomach upset
• Never leave pets alone in a parked vehicle, in hot or cold weather

🐾 New Leash on Life - Ludo (formerly Bruno)

After spending nearly a month at the shelter, Ludo found his forever family. His adopters say he’s been the perfect addition to their home, bringing laughter, cuddles, and plenty of playful energy. His big sister, Bella, now has the perfect companion to run and play with, and when the zoomies are over, they pile up together for cozy naps.

Ludo was born with mild microphthalmia, a congenital eye condition, but it hasn’t slowed him down. His family has scheduled a visit with an ophthalmologist to ensure he stays comfortable and healthy.

From his family:
“We just knew from the moment we met him that he was our playful, goofy boy. He’s curious about everything, and we can’t stop laughing at his antics. We’re so grateful to have him in our lives.”

Thank you to Ludo’s wonderful family for opening your hearts and home, and for giving this sweet boy the love and care he deserves.

National Walk Your Dog Week takes place during the first week of October, serving as a great reminder of the importance of daily walks for both you and your dog. Regular walks provide exercise, reduce stress, and strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend.

For everyone’s safety, Seabrook city ordinance requires all pets to be on a leash in public. Keeping your pet leashed helps protect your pet, wildlife, and other residents, while ensuring everyone can enjoy our beautiful trails and neighborhoods.

The dog in this photo is Rodeo, one of the many adoptable pets at the Seabrook Animal Shelter who would love a walking buddy. Visit www.seabrooktx.gov/adopt to learn more about Rodeo and other adoptable pets.

Meet Rodeo, a one-of-a-kind pup who might just be the mythical “bulldach” mix, a blend of bulldog and dachshund. Whatever his mix may be, Rodeo is unmistakable with his low-to-the-ground frame, Staffordshire-like smile, and impressive jumping skills.

This handsome boy can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and gentle encouragement, he’ll show you his sweet side. Rodeo thrives on consistency and routine, so he’s looking for someone who will give him the time and understanding he needs to build trust.

If you have a calm home and a loving heart, Rodeo could be the perfect companion to share your days. All he needs is a steady friend to help him feel safe and loved.

Meet Lyla, a stunning “belusky” mix with a heart as big as her smile. This playful girl is full of love and excitement. She might jump up for hugs when she’s happy, but it’s just her way of showing affection. A few laps around the lawn and a squeaky toy are all it takes to make her day.

Lyla is eager to please and greets everyone like a friend. She enjoys peanut butter treats, soft head pats, and gentle attention. She keeps her space tidy and does well with outdoor potty breaks.

Because Lyla is still learning her manners, a home without small children may be the best fit while she continues to grow and settle in. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will bring joy and energy to your life, Lyla is ready to be your new best friend.

This smart pup seems familiar with life in a home and does well keeping her space tidy. She’s eager to share her heart with someone who will give her the love and attention she deserves.

If you’re looking for a cheerful companion who will bring joy to every day, Moseley may be the perfect match.

Meet Ludo, a gentle giant whose name comes from the Latin word ludo, meaning “I play,” and play is exactly what he loves to do! Ludo is happiest when he’s near you, enjoying tasty treats and a little fun.

This sweet boy is full of smiles and eager to make friends with everyone he meets. He sometimes gets so excited that he prances and gives happy kisses.

Ludo is learning his new name, working on his house training, and showing every day how eager he is to please. He enjoys toys, but your company is what he loves most. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, Ludo is ready to share his with you.
