⚠️ Dangerous Heat Alert – Seabrook, NH ⚠️

Seabrook Fire Department and Seabrook Emergency Management are urging residents to take precautions as hazardous heat is expected Wednesday through Friday, with heat index values possibly reaching 105°–110°.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible during this period, which could lead to power outages and additional heat-related concerns.

Please take steps to stay safe:

💧 Drink plenty of water
🏠 Take breaks in air conditioning
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activity
👵 Check on seniors, children, neighbors, and pets
🚗 Never leave children or pets inside vehicles

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Call 911 in an emergency.

HEAT SAFETY ALERT – WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY

Seabrook Emergency Management and the Seabrook Fire Department are advising residents to prepare for dangerous heat index values on Wednesday and Thursday. State heat index maps show the Seacoast area may feel like near 110° or higher, especially during the afternoon hours.

Please take precautions:

Stay hydrated — drink water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.
Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
Take breaks in shade or air conditioning if working outside.
Check on elderly neighbors, family members, young children, and anyone with medical conditions.
Never leave children or pets in vehicles, even for a short time.
Bring pets indoors and make sure they have plenty of water.
Watch for signs of heat illness including dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness, heavy sweating, confusion, or fainting.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If someone becomes confused, passes out, or has hot skin and a very high body temperature, call 911 immediately.

Please stay safe, stay cool, and check on one another.

Hello Neighbors

As we brace for dangerously cold weather again this weekend, the Seabrook community is pulling together to support our neighbors who don’t have a warm place to shelter from the cold.

We will be setting up a warming station at the Library starting Saturday at Noon and running through the weekend. As long as there are guests to be sheltered, the station will be open overnight Saturday into Sunday and Sunday into Monday

*Any guests who would like to stay must be in the library by 10PM each night*

For those who would like to help, we welcome volunteers, and/or donations of items to keep people warm throughout the cold winter days.

A few ideas for items that could be helpful:

⁃ cold-rated sleeping bags (or any sleeping bags we can pair with extra blankets)
⁃ wool / thermal socks
⁃ gloves
⁃ hats
⁃ scarves
⁃ hand/foot warmers/body warmers
⁃ tarps for wind and water protection
⁃ insulated sleeping pads
⁃ thermoses for hot liquids
⁃ wool or fleece blankets.

If you’re willing and able to contribute any of these items, they can be dropped off at our warming station during its operating hours.

Double the drills, double the fun of working to keep our communities safe!

To our friends and neighbors in or traveling through the Emergency Planning Zone (the 10-mile radius around Seabrook Station) on Wednesday, February 7: We will be holding a drill as part of our graded exercise cycle. In ADDITION, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard will be holding its own drill on the same day.

What does this mean? It means you may see extra emergency responder activity and could potentially hear the Giant Voice (the shipyard's loudspeaker) during this time. Don't be alarmed if you do; it's all routine activity.
