We are still looking for pool lifeguards for this summer. The only requirement to apply is that you must be 15 years old by the end of the training class. We provide all training that is required. We provide lifeguard services to several pools in Long Branch as well as to the Ocean Township pool, and offer many different shift options for hours. Today a few LBOR lifeguards travelled up to Sea Bright to help watch over the participants in the polar plunge where they were raising money to fight addiction. Happy we could support such an important cause. With only 62 days until the start of Memorial Day weekend, we are looking forward to warmer weather and warmer water.

Each year LBOR employs over 100 women lifeguards, making up just about 50 percent of our staff. The ladies of LBOR are some of our most experienced and dependable guards as well as our toughest competitors. Come join them this summer for the best job you will ever have.

In addition to providing lifeguards for over 3 miles of public beaches in the city, we also staff 4 pools with lifeguards in both Long Branch and Ocean Twp. The minimum age requirement for this position is 15 years old, and we provide all of the training. This is a great first job to have, and it's also a great way to get some lifeguarding experience prior to meeting the age requirement to be an ocean lifeguard.

Today we filed our letter of opposition to the closing and relocation of the acute care hospital at Monmouth Medical Center. This move is not in the best interests of anyone who comes to our beach and is not in the best interests of the residents of Long Branch. OFF DUTY RESCUE

Today, just before 3:00 pm, off-duty LBOR lifeguard Cameron Rice along with off-duty lifeguards Roberto and Isabella were in the right place at the right time when they noticed a man struggling in the surf off Morris Ave Beach. Cameron and the Cape May guards immediately jumped into action and successfully rescued the victim.

Although the weather was beautiful today, please remember that lifeguards are off duty for the season, and this could have ended much worse. Your chances of fatally drowning on a beach with lifeguards present are less than 1 in 18 million according to . Your chances of fatally drowning exponentially increase when lifeguards are not present. Please stay out of the water until next summer.
