The Governor Shapiro Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development announced more than $17.2 million in Main Street Matters funding for projects across the Commonwealth, including a $273,758 investment for Dickson City Borough here in Lackawanna County.

This funding will support renovations to the historic Delaware & Hudson Railway Station and surrounding grounds, helping turn the property into a community hub through improvements to the roofing, siding, windows, doors, paint and lighting.

I’m glad to see DCED and the Shapiro Administration continuing to invest in projects that preserve local history, improve our communities and create spaces people can continue using and enjoying for years to come.

Rep. Bridget M Kosierowski and I were proud to join the community in Scranton last week, for the NEPA Armed Forces Day Parade honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

After yesterday’s Memorial Day observances, it feels especially important to recognize the sacrifices made by so many service members and military families throughout our nation’s history.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize this year’s parade and to all of the veterans, active duty service members, marching groups and community members who came out to take part in the day.

To all who have worn the uniform and to the families who have stood beside them, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Memorial Day is a day to remember the men and women who gave their lives serving our country.
We owe a great deal to those who never made it home and to the families who continue carrying that loss with them every day.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, I hope everyone takes a moment to remember the people this day is truly about.

Had a great time at the Scott Township Little League opening day on Saturday and was honored to throw out the first pitch alongside Rep. Bridget M Kosierowski

It was great seeing so many families, players, coaches and volunteers out supporting another season of Little League. Thank you to everyone who helps make these programs possible and gives kids the chance to learn, compete and make memories that last long after the season ends.

Last week, my Communications Director, Victoria, attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting for Adam’s Hardware in Scranton on my behalf.

This new business is a great addition to the West Side community and a reflection of the hard work and commitment the Taffera family has put into this project. The store was named in honor of their late brother, Adam, which makes this opening even more meaningful for their family.

It is also good to see a property that had been sitting vacant put back into use in a way that brings new business and activity into the neighborhood.

Congratulations to Chris, Justin, their family, and everyone involved in making this happen. I wish them continued success in their new location.

PennDOT announced that the Shapiro Administration is investing nearly $10 million into airport improvement projects across Pennsylvania, including $2.97 million for improvements at the Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport in Luzerne County.

These investments will support infrastructure upgrades, safety improvements and future development at airports that play an important role in transportation, emergency response and local economic activity throughout the Commonwealth. I am glad to see this investment coming to the 22nd District.

More than $7.4 million in Local Share Account (LSA) funding has been awarded to 55 projects throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.

This funding will support improvements that people will see and feel in their everyday lives. A lot of these projects started with conversations about what communities needed most and where local governments and organizations needed support to keep moving forward.

These investments will support projects tied to public safety, infrastructure, parks, community organizations, youth programs, and local facilities across our region.

I’m grateful to work alongside Representatives Rep. Bridget M Kosierowski, Rep. Kyle Mullins, Rep. Kyle Donahue, Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, and Rep. Jim Haddock to help bring this funding back home to the communities we represent.
