It was an honor to be a part of the Liberty tree dedication yesterday at Dugas Park. If you get a chance, stop by the park and see the new tree that we hope will be there for generations to come and enjoy. It is near the pavilion.
A special thanks to Nathan Morgan for donating the tree, Dugas Park for being the home of the Liberty Tree, John Buchanon for sound system and set up, Patrick Gilmore DAR chapter, Allen County America250KY committee, the Allen County Historical Society and our Military service members, dugout Park wbko, Chris Cole from the citizen times, and Allen Fletcher Kentucky Historical Society we found out he has Allen County roots from one of our early pioneer families the Dalton's. We were pleased that Allen stayed with us for most of the day and we got to show him some of the places that are special to us in Allen County and some of the cemeteries were his ancestors are buried. We look forward to him coming back to visit again.

Liberty Tree Dedication
Honoring Patriots, Veterans, and America's 250th Anniversary
Hosted by the Patrick Gillmore Chapter, NSDAR
Gayle Davis Master of Ceremonies
To commemorate 250 years of American history and to honor Kentucky’s contributions, the Kentucky Historical Society, joined forces with the Kentucky Division of Forestry and the Kentucky Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (KSDAR) to plant a tulip poplar, Kentucky’s official state tree in each of Kentucky’s 120 counties. The Liberty Tree Project serves not only as a historical lesson but also as a lesson in the conservation of Kentucky’s native plants.
This is more than a planting; its roots will be woven into our history, gratitude, and national pride. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States, we gather to honor those who have held the torch of freedom high—the brave Patriots who birthed our nation and the dedicated Veterans who have secured its path through every generation since.

The Liberty Tree has long been a symbol of resistance to tyranny and a beacon for those who dream of a free society. By planting a new Liberty Tree, we are casting a vote of confidence in the future. We are ensuring that two hundred and fifty years from now, those who stand at Dumont Hill will know that we remembered—that we cherished the hard-won gift of American independence. Thank you for joining us today.
