Ride-along complete.

I spent the morning with Scottsdale Police. After Officer Reyes had to direct traffic this morning, things took a turn I won’t forget.

While I can’t share the details of what unfolded, I can tell you this — the weight these officers carry every single shift is something most people never see.

Every elected official should do a ride along. Every. Single. One.

Thank you, Officer Reyes and Scottsdale PD, for letting me ride alongside you today. You will have my full support in the Arizona House.

Two more officers shot yesterday…that makes 5 officer shot, one dead in the last 3 days.

Please keep the two Atlantic City PD officers shot serving a search warrant yesterday in your thoughts and prayers.

Both are expected to survive the heinous attack and the dirtbag who shot them was neutralized…permanently.

While we see violent crime declining, we continue to historic number of officers assaulted and shot.

Anyone claiming these isn’t a War on Cops in America is either delusional or just a liar.

Deputy Sheriff Tobin Bolter succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained while making a traffic stop.

He had just exited his patrol car and was approaching the stopped vehicle when the driver opened fire on him before fleeing. A witness to the shooting called 911 and performed CPR on Deputy Bolter before medics arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

The subject was located near a home on S Jackson Street a short time later. He was shot and killed by Boise police officers after opening fire on them as they attempted to take him into custody. It was later determined that the man was wanted.

Deputy Bolter had only served with the Ada County Sheriff's Office for four months. He had a total of seven years of law enforcement experience and had previously served with the Meridian Police Department and the Pleasant Hill Police Department in California. He is survived by his expectant wife.

Two years ago today, our community experienced a tragedy that forever changed countless lives.

On June 1, 2024, Officer Joshua R. Briese was killed in the line of duty while serving the Gila River Indian Community. During the same tragic incident, Alicen Apkaw also lost her life. Today, we pause to remember them both, honor their memories, and reflect on the profound impact their loss continues to have on their families, friends, and our community.

Two years later, the pain remains, but so does our commitment to remember. We remember Josh's dedication, his sacrifice, and the impact he made in such a short time. We remember Alicen and the life that was taken too soon.

Please join us in keeping the Briese family, the Apkaw family, and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts today.

Gone, but never forgotten.
