🎉 Scotts Valley is celebrating 60 years... and we have TWO great reasons to mark your calendars!

The City of Scotts Valley will kick off its 60th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, August 2nd, with a community celebration honoring six decades of history, community, and hometown pride at Skypark.

Then, keep the celebration going by joining the Scotts Valley Police Department for one of our favorite events of the year...

National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the people who serve our community while enjoying a fun evening with family, friends, and neighbors.

National Night Out features a community BBQ, bounce house, face painting, station tours, games, and family fun from 5:00–8:00 PM at MacDorsa Park.

Every year we honor our SVPD retirees with a BBQ at Macdorsa Park. We also use this time to requalify any of our retirees who have a CCW. It’s a great way to reconnect with each other and honor the years of service these men and women contributed to making Scotts Valley Police and our wonderful community what it is today.

***UPDATE as of 9:30 AM the fire has been contained. However, firefighters are still working the area so please find alternate routes. Thank you

We want to inform the community there is a small wildland fire in the area of Lockhart Gulch and Geyer Road. SV Fire and other fire agencies are already working on it. Please stay away from the area to allow firefighters room to work and get their equipment to the scene. You may see smoke in the Skypark area.

It’s been a busy weekend filled with great events for our officers and even K9 Sam to spend time being involved in our community!!

We drove the antique police car to the annual Hot Rods on the Green car show at Twin Lakes Church.

We also had plenty of on duty staff at the annual Hops N Barley Fest at Skypark.

The annual 4th of July parade was great fun and the community spirit was on full display celebrating the 250 year anniversary of our country and 60th anniversary of Scotts Valley.

We enjoyed participating in the annual 4th of July Skypark neighborhood parade. It was such fun watching all the families riding their bikes that they decorated.

🇺🇸 Join Us for Scotts Valley's Fourth of July Celebration! 🇺🇸

The Scotts Valley Police Department is excited to share the Scotts Valley Parks & Recreation Fourth of July Parade and invite everyone to come celebrate with us!

Bring your family, friends, and patriotic spirit for a fun-filled day in our community. The celebration begins with the Block Party from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 5060 Scotts Valley Drive, featuring:
🎵 Live music
🌮 Food trucks
🎈 Kids Zone
🎉 Family-friendly activities for all ages

Then, grab your spot along the route as the Fourth of July Parade steps off at 11:00 a.m. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the festivities!

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Scotts Valley Drive will be closed from Civic Center Drive to El Pueblo Road beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade. Please plan ahead and use alternate routes if traveling through the area.

Building trust and positive relationships with our youth is at the heart of what we do. This past week, we had the privilege of hosting another session of our Junior Police Academy for local middle school students!

Our "Recruits" didn't just learn about law enforcement—they lived it. They challenged themselves with physical fitness drills at Scotts Valley Innovative Martial Arts, learned the meticulous science of crime scene investigation, worked with our first responder partners at Scotts Valley Fire District and showed their dedication to our community by hiking out to the Garden of Eden to pick up garbage for community service hours. 🗑️💚

We are so proud of their effort, curiosity, and teamwork.
