Rockford Ohio (Mercer County)
Asking for a little help tonight from anyone who stopped at the Tastee between 8:15 - 8:30 tonight, at the walk up window. We were robbed tonight by a black male, in his 30s, black hoodie, with Khaki shorts. Was likely with 3 other black males driving a gold cadillac. Anyone who stopped by around that time period, who might have any information about what all they saw in the area, not just at our front windows, is encouraged to contact us, or the Sheriff's department. We'd really appreciate it. We've been told that the same group of men also tried to pull the same type of robbery at TJ's earlier tonight, but were not successful. Thanks for your help.

Keys found in Continental. Corner of 634 and 15. According to Speedway card attached, they would belong to a female with a Haviland address. Looks like work keys and several of them. Please share and see if we can find the owner. Thanks

Van Wert County Sheriff Office:

I have been made aware of a phone scam using the Buckeye Sheriffs’ Association (BSSA) name to solicit donations. I am asking for help warning citizens about this scam.

The Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association (BSSA) NEVER solicits donations by phone. I am asking if anyone receives a call soliciting donations for the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association, that citizens do NOT give any donation to the telephone solicitor. I am also asking citizens to call the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office or other local Sheriff’s Office and report this information to us.

Thank you,

Tom Riggenbach
