AMC/AIS Develop, employ, and sustain intelligence capabilities for global air mobility

The AMC Air Intelligence Squadron stood up on 1 July 1994 in conjunction with the Air Force-wide establishment of Intelligence Wings, Groups, and Squadrons at major air commands and agencies. Today the AIS has just over 100 military, civilian, and contract personnel serving in four divisions: Intelligence Analysis, Intelligence Operations, Force Development, and Plans and Resources.

AIS Family and Friends, it's with a heavy heart to pass that the squadron has lost one of our best...Mr. Fred Schmitt, on 16 Aug from complications due to COVID. The family writes that in lieu of flowers and other gifts, they request you make a donation to VFW Post 805. If you’d like to post your condolences, they ask you sign the guestbook at www.wfh-ofallon.com. Due to COVID, there currently are no plans to have a service, but the family hope an appropriate memorial will occur in the Fall.

He is dearly missed throughout the squadron as he left a larger than life impact not only in the AIS, but throughout the community. We'll miss you Fred.
