**Public Assistance Requested**
On Monday, June 9th, shortly after midnight, officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired. Various callers indicated hearing gunfire in different areas on the east side of town. Officers proceeded to the reported locations and conducted a search of these areas, but did not discover any physical evidence. At the time of the calls, no damage or injuries were reported.
At approximately 1:00 AM, the hospital reported that a female victim arrived with a gunshot wound. Although additional details were not obtained, it was determined that the shooting did happen within the town of Scotland Neck. It was later reported that an unoccupied vehicle sustained damage as a result of the gunfire.
The exact location of the incident remains unclear at this time.
The victim's condition is reportedly stable.
