May 15, 2026 is Peace Officers Memorial Day, the members of the Village of Scotia Fire Department pause to honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and to recognize all those who continue to serve and protect our communities each day.

As National Police Week ends, we want to thank the officers who answer the call at all hours, stand beside us during emergencies, and dedicate themselves to the safety of others.

The fire service and law enforcement share a bond built through service, sacrifice, and commitment to the communities we proudly protect together.

Please join us in remembering the fallen and supporting the men and women who continue to wear the badge with honor.

🚨 We’re Back Home! 🚨

The Scotia Police Department is proud to announce that effective today, May 5, 2026, we have officially moved back into our newly renovated police station!

📍 4 North Ten Broeck Street, Scotia, NY

We’re excited to return to our home in the Village of Scotia and continue serving our community from our updated facility. These renovations allow us to better support our officers and enhance the services we provide to our residents.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and support during this transition—we’re glad to be back!

On Monday, April 27th at approximately 6:12 PM, the Scotia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at 106 Mohawk Ave.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a smoke condition coming from 110 Mohawk Ave, two buildings over. A working fire was declared, and crews immediately began an interior search for any occupants while working to locate the seat of the fire.

After an extensive search, the fire was located and extinguished. Crews simultaneously conducted primary and secondary searches for victims and checked for extension into neighboring structures to ensure the fire had not spread.

The Scotia Fire Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to our mutual aid partners and all agencies that assisted, both on scene and by providing coverage throughout the incident. Your support is invaluable to our community.

A special thank you to Scotia Diner for providing coffee as the evening went on, and to Upstate Halal Bros for stopping by and handing out egg rolls to responders. Your generosity does not go unnoticed—you truly kept our crews going.

The Village of Scotia Fire Department is proud to participate in “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters” this week.

From April 26 through May 3, departments, landmarks, and communities across the country are illuminating red lights in honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This nationwide tribute, led by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, serves as a powerful reminder that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We invite our community to join us in showing support by lighting your home or business in red this week.

As you are driving down Mohawk Ave this week and you see our firehouse glowing red, we hope that you join us while we stand in remembrance of our fallen brothers and sisters—and in solidarity with the families they left behind.
