Within the next couple of days, the city will be posting notices in Scio business windows inviting all residents in and around Scio to the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the newly renovated Scio City Hall. Please consider this your official invitation to attend this historical event.

Thank you to Weaver Seed of Oregon for coming to our Fairy Garden Program yesterday and sharing information about pollinators with the children! Weaver Seed of Oregon has a Sunflower Growing Contest which they are inviting all Scio children to participate in. Bees of Oregon books and sunflower seeds are available at the Scio Public Library. Mr. Weaver assures us that it is not too late to plant your sunflowers for the contest.

Come to the Library and get your Sunflower seeds and books!

Library Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - Noon.

Attention Scio Citizens,
Happy 4th of July & Happy 250th Birthday Americal; as we live in the greatest country in the world!

I pray that everyone enjoys this monumental moment, surrounded by family and friends and that we all recognize how fortunate we are to be living in the United States of America!

I am also excited to announce that City Hall is moving from our temporary quarters to the new building during the week of July 6th, 2026. Please read the announcement below and share it with family and friends.

The city has tentatively scheduled a City Hall Grand Opening on Friday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. I will be providing more information on the grand opening as the date draws nearer. Stay Tune.
