🇲🇽🎉 ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia de México! 🎉🇲🇽

Yesterday, Profe’s Spanish classes learned about Mexico’s fight for independence and the Grito de Dolores that takes place annually at the National Palace. 📚🇲🇽

Today, the celebration continued! 🎊 Students created colorful Mexican flag piñatas filled with candy 🍬🪅 and sampled some delicious traditional treats, including Agua Fresca, Horchata, and Tres Leches Cake! 🥤🍰😋

🇪🇸 Rotary Field had a little Spanish flair yesterday! 🇪🇸

The SHAHS Spanish Club took over Rotary Field yesterday, bringing plenty of Canes pride, energía, and diversión to the afternoon! ⚽️🌪️

It was a great day to come together, enjoy the field, and celebrate the language and culture our Spanish Club represents.

🏊‍♂️ Your Voice Can Help Shape the Future of Cressona Pool!

The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission, Cressona Borough, and CHA Solutions are working together on a Feasibility Study for the renovation of the Cressona Pool Complex.

And Schuylkill Haven residents have a voice in this, too! 💙💛

A large number of the pool’s patrons are from our community, making your feedback especially important. The study will include a community survey and public meeting where residents and pool users can share their thoughts and ideas.

If you use the Cressona Pool, this is your chance to help shape its future! 🏊‍♀️

The Annual Schuylkill County College Fair will be held Thursday, October 1st at Martz Hall in Pottsville and is for Juniors planning on attending college after graduation and Seniors who are undecided on which college they will attend next year. Please pick up a permission slip in the guidance office if you are interested in attending. We will take 1 bus so get your permission slips in by September 22nd to secure a spot. This event is free of charge.

What’s the best way to prepare for the first quiz of the school year? Speed dating review, of course!

Mrs. Frank’s Intro to Geometry students put a fun spin on review day as they practiced simplifying radicals. Students first became the “experts” on a problem and then rotated through partners, teaching and explaining their thinking along the way.

Not only did students get plenty of practice, but they also had the opportunity to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, communication, and confidence.

Who says math can’t be fun?! Definitely not us!
