This past Saturday evening, members of Schuyler Hose, along with family and friends, gathered for our annual company banquet and awards ceremony at the Middle Falls firehouse.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of two members for achieving 50 years of active service. Michael Barron, who joined in November 1975, and Edward Carr, who joined in April 1976, were both honored for their incredible dedication. Sadly, we lost Mikey to pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago, making this recognition especially meaningful. Both Mike and Ed received awards from the company, the Village of Schuylerville, and the New York State Assembly.
Firematic officers were sworn into office by Village Mayor Dan Carpenter.
The Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Captain Mark Wells in recognition of his hard work and dedication, as voted on by the membership.
The Town of Saratoga Award was presented by Town Supervisor Ian Murray to our Company President, Laurie Scheuing.
Meritorious Service Awards were presented to Assistant Chief Rob Decker, Secretary Frank Merrill and Trustee James Carr.
In addition, several members were recognized for contributing significant hours in service to the company.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past year—especially our families. We look forward to continuing to serve and protect our community in the year ahead.
