The American Legion/Eagles Club recently hosted the annual Vietnam Veterans Quilt of Honor presentation.
Lynn DeShon has crafted 149 of these special quilts to recognize & thank veterans for their service, & in memory of her father who fought in WW II.
🇺🇸This years recipients were:🇺🇸
1) Edward Hruska, Army, Vietnam 70-71, 101st Air Borne, Artillery, Screaming Eagles.
2) Richard Tomasek, Army, Vietnam 65-66, 1st Infantry, communication specialist.
3) Mike Zimbelman, Army, Vietnam 68-70, Helicopter Door Gunner.
4) David Keating, Marine, Vietnam 1965, Infantry.
5) Richard Ferguson, Navy, Vietnam 65-68, was on DD727 Destroyer & DE450, he was a Firefighter & did damage control.
Thank you to our Vietnam Veterans, we are proud of you & the sacrifices you have made.

Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of May. It was officially established in 1949 by Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson to replace separate Army, Navy, and Air Force Days, and was made an official national holiday in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy.

Children of Fallen Patriots Day on May 13 honors and supports children of fallen service members, acknowledging their sacrifices and struggles. It also recognizes the courage and sacrifices of fallen heroes and the ongoing needs of their families.
